MOYA MULDOWNEY - BIOGRAPHY ARTIST STATEMENT Moya Muldowney graduated from the National College of Art and Design in 1997 with a bachelor of design (craft) and is currently based in Phoenix art studio. Since graduating Moya has worked with a variety of practitioners in craft and has also given workshops and tutorials in Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology, most recently she has exhibited in the Sculpture in Context exhibition in the National Botanic Gardens. Moya produces hand built aesthetically beautiful works of art led ceramics of varied scale. During her childhood in the unique beauty of the countryside of Co. Mayo she developed a close and sensitive relationship with nature. Her work reflects this deep sensitivity and love of place. Moya s technical and aesthetic skills provide her with the necessary framework to respond in a challenging and unique way and possess an organic quality specific to Moya Muldowney s work.
