3x2 Exhibition of Contemporary Clay will profile some of the most cutting edge ceramic artists working today, Clare Twomey, Claire Curneen, and Andrew Livingstone alongside three emerging Irish artists Nuala Ní Fhlathuin, Ann O Neill and Kate Howard.
The exhibition aims to give Ireland a taste of the immense world of contemporary clay. As part of Irelands Year of Craft, it will reflect the diversity and excitement of the craft industry, and importantly, secure an elevated place for ceramics in the national consciousness.
The core objective of this exhibition is to bring Irish contemporary clay to a wider audience as well as building on the language of contemporary clay. It embraces and celebrates the ever more complex, and sophisticated uses of clay in today’s visual art culture.
On Thursday the 3rd of November from 1.30pm the public are invited to attend a seminar by artists Claire Curneen and Andrew Livingstone at Cluain Mhuire GMIT Art Department Mervue Road Galway. This lecture is funded by Irish Ceramics in Education (ICE).
3x2 is kindly supported by The Crafts Council of Ireland, Galway City Council and Galway Harbour Company.
